How it works
- Apply below. Tell us about your pantry and your website.
- We call to check. We confirm your address, hours, what to bring and whether people need an appointment.
- Get your badge. We email your badge image and a short piece of code to paste into your website.
- People can check it. The badge links to your listing on Pantry Hours, which shows the date we confirmed your hours.
Who can apply
Staff and volunteers at a food pantry or free meal site in South Carolina, the area we cover so far. You need a website, such as your pantry’s or your church’s, to display the badge.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. The check and the badge are free, and listings are always free. We don’t charge pantries to be listed.
What do you check?
We call the pantry to confirm its address, the days and times it gives out food, what people should bring (such as a photo ID or proof of address), and whether people need an appointment.
Our pantry is already on Pantry Hours. Is it checked?
Not yet. Our listings come from Harvest Hope Food Bank’s pantry finder. Hours Checked means we have also confirmed your details directly with you by phone, and your listing will say “Confirmed by phone” with the date.
Can we put the badge up before you call?
Please wait for your badge code. The badge links to your listing, so people can see what we confirmed. Only pantries we have checked may display it.
What if our hours change?
Tell us through our report form and we will re-confirm. If we can no longer confirm your details, or the pantry closes, we will ask you to take the badge down.
